Anandamide - Bliss Molecule
Known as the "bliss molecule", the word "Ananda" is sanskrit and means happiness. It is a cannaboid naturally produced in our bodies and improves our mood when attached to neurotransmitters with similar therapeutic effects of THC.
Theobromine - Cognitive Enhancement
Promotes the release of dopamine bringing about feelings of arousal; with cognitive enhancement properties it improves our focus and concentration. Similar to caffeine in its mood enhancing effects, it is longer lasting (up to 7.5 hours) and much milder - it will not cause the jitters like coffee does.
Magnesium - Balanced Energy
Regulates muscle and nerve function, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure, increasing the flow of healing oxygen to our organs and tissues, assisting us with balanced energy, healthy sleeping patterns and general well being.
Flavanoids - Cell Protection & Repair
Natural antioxidants which protect us from disease. Cacao contains 40 times more antioxidants than blueberrie
Iron - Improves Blood Flow
Cacao is the highest plant-based source of iron known to man, at an unbelievable 7.3mg per 100g. Compare to beef and lamb at 2.5mg, and spinach at 3.6mg.
Calcium - Healthy Bones & Heart
Cacao has more calcium than cow’s milk, at 160mg per 100g vs only 125mg per 100ml of milk.
Antioxidants: Ceremonial grade cacao can lower inflammation in the body due to its high concentration of antioxidants that fight oxidative stress and chronic diseases.
Gut Health: Drinking ceremonial cacao can support your gut health by acting as a prebiotic that feeds the beneficial bacteria in your digestive system.
Heart Health: It supports heart health by cleaning the deposits from your arteries, lowering blood pressure, and improving blood flow.
Blood Sugar Control: It helps control blood sugar by regulating insulin levels and reducing cravings for sweets.
Mood Boosting: By stimulating the production of serotonin, dopamine, and anandamide, which are neurotransmitters that make you feel happy, motivated, and relaxed, ceremonial cacao acts as a natural antidepressant. One of the reasons ceremonial cacao can increase serotonin is because it contains tryptophan, a heat sensitive amino acid that converts to serotonin in the body. Usually it's“cooked out” of conventional processed chocolate. Ceremonial cacao preserves the tryptophan content by using low temperatures and minimal processing. Because ceremonial cacao has the ability to increase feelings of love, it plays an essential role in many spiritual practices.
Reduces Anxiety: Ceremonial cacao has one of the highest concentrations of magnesium known to man, with about 103 mg per 28 g serving. Because magnesium is is essential for muscle relaxation and nervous system function, the mega doses you get of this important mineral will help with stress management.
The difference between regular Cacao and Ceremonial Cacao lies in the way it is processed.

ANTI-DEPRESSANTS
The MAOIs in cacao can interact with some anti-depressant medication so ask your doctor if it’s ok for you. It's not dangerous, just unpleasant as it can create a migraine. Let me know so that I may need to alter your dose, but you can absolutely still join. In general it will only effect those on a high dose or mixture of medications, and all should be fine on a slightly lowered dose of Cacao.
PREGNANCY/BREASTFEEDING
Cacao is safe and really good for developing babies but your dose may need to be lowered, depending on the stage so let me know if that applies to you.
HEART CONDITIONS
Cacao increases your heart rate 20-30% so if this would be a problem for you let me know and I will alter your dose. It's an amazing heart medicine but you may need to start slower with it.
